By using the Website or Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, please do not access or use the Website.

  • “You”, “Your”, “Yourself”, and “User” refer to any natural or legal person who accesses, browses, registers on, or otherwise uses the Website or Services.
  • “Personal Information” refers to any information that identifies, or could reasonably be used to identify, you, as further described in Clause 3 below.
  • “Third Party” refers to any website, company, or individual other than You and the Company.
  • “Services” refers to the courses, webinars, downloadable materials, certificates, and any other educational offerings made available through the Website.

2. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to personal information we collect through the Website and any associated learning-management dashboard, course enrolment and checkout process, live and recorded webinars, customer-support communications, marketing communications, and our official social media pages, to the extent permitted by the relevant platform. It does not apply to information collected by any third-party website linked from the Website, or by a third party with whom you interact independently of us.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Personal data such as your full name, email address, mobile/phone number, billing or mailing address, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form), and, where relevant, educational background, occupation, or trading-experience level;
  • Payment-related information such as billing name and transaction reference — see Clause 3.4 on how card/UPI details themselves are handled;
  • Content you voluntarily submit, such as feedback, testimonials, reviews, survey responses, or queries sent to trade@stockburner.in; and
  • Identity details such as PAN, where legally required for GST-compliant invoicing or certificate issuance.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically (Tracking Information)

This includes, without limitation, the IP address and device ID of the device you use to connect to the Internet, the URL you came from and the URL you go to next (whether or not on the Website), your browser and operating-system information, pages viewed, time spent on each page, video watch-time, quiz/assessment scores, and course-completion status. This Policy also applies to data we collect from visitors who are not registered users, including general browsing behaviour and pages viewed.

3.3 Information From Third Parties

If you choose to register or log in using a third-party account (for example, Google), we may receive basic profile information such as your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider, subject to your privacy settings on that platform. Payment gateways and analytics providers may also share limited, aggregated, or transaction-confirmation data with us.

3.4 Payment Information

Where you provide payment-related financial information (such as card, UPI, or net-banking details) on the Website, this information is transmitted directly to our RBI-authorised, PCI-DSS-compliant third-party payment gateway over an encrypted connection; we do not receive, store, or retain your complete card number, CVV, or UPI PIN on our own servers. We use such payment information solely to complete your transaction and for no other purpose.

4. How We Use Your Information

We collect and use personal information only for purposes we consider necessary to provide you a seamless, safe learning experience, including:

  • Service Delivery: to create and manage your account, process enrolments and payments, deliver course content, certificates, and materials, and provide customer support.
  • Communication: to send necessary account and service-related information, respond to enquiries, and provide quality customer care.
  • Personalisation: to recommend courses and tailor learning paths based on your interests and course progress.
  • Marketing: to send you offers and updates based on your interests and prior activity, where you have consented; such contact information is deleted upon withdrawal of your consent via the “unsubscribe” link or a request to trade@stockburner.in.
  • Platform Improvement: to analyse search history, usage, and traffic data to improve the functionality and content quality of the Website.
  • Fraud Prevention and Security: to detect, investigate, and prevent unauthorised access or fraudulent payments.
  • Legal Compliance: to comply with applicable tax, accounting, and other regulatory obligations in India, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Where any service you request involves a third party (for example, a joint-certification partner), we may share only the information reasonably necessary for the Company to carry out that specific request.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), we rely on your consent, the performance of a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Services, provided such interests are not overridden by your rights.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use data-collection devices such as “cookies” on certain pages of the Website to provide customised services and to identify logged-in or registered users. Our Website uses session cookies containing a unique session ID that allows our server to recognise your computer, so that you only need to log in once per session and our server can distinguish your activity from that of other users. The main categories of cookies we use are:

  • Authentication cookies: to identify you and deliver the content you have requested.
  • Functionality/preference cookies: to remember your settings and resume your course progress where you left off.
  • Analytics and performance cookies: to capture usage metrics such as device, browser, and operating system, and to understand how learners engage with our courses so that we can improve them.
  • Marketing cookies: used, where consented to, to measure the effectiveness of promotional campaigns.

6.1 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our content and how we can improve the Website. These cookies collect anonymous data, such as where you came from, which pages you visit, and how long you spend on the site which is transmitted to and stored by Google, including potentially on servers outside India, and does not itself identify you personally. By using the Website, you consent to Google processing data about you in this manner. Further information is available in Google’s own privacy policy.

You may accept or decline cookies at any time by modifying your browser settings; doing so may, however, prevent you from taking full advantage of certain Website features, such as saved course progress.

7. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes. As a matter of policy, we will not share your personal information with others unless they are acting under our instructions or we are required to do so by law. We may, however, disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: with trusted vendors who support our operations, such as payment gateways, cloud hosting and storage providers, email/SMS/WhatsApp delivery services, video-hosting platforms, and analytics providers, each bound by confidentiality obligations appropriate to the service provided.
  • Certification and Affiliated Partners: where a course includes a joint certification, limited information necessary to issue that certificate; affiliated partners such as event sponsors may similarly receive limited attendee information for events you register for.
  • Legal and Law-Enforcement Requirements: we may disclose information to government or law-enforcement authorities where we believe, in our sole discretion, that disclosure is necessary or appropriate to comply with a legal process, protect against fraud, or protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public. Where reasonably possible, we will intimate you by email of any such disclosure.
  • Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality arrangements.
  • With Your Consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection, with your consent.

Information collected via our server logs, including IP addresses and pages visited, is used to manage the Website and troubleshoot technical issues, and may be combined with third-party analytics tools to help us deliver more relevant content.

8. Data Security

We treat personal information as an asset that must be protected against loss and unauthorised access, and we employ industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis, to protect it from unauthorised access by persons inside and outside the Company. That said, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Transacting over the internet carries inherent risk that can only be mitigated by your own good security practices, such as not revealing your account credentials to anyone and promptly informing our support team of any suspicious activity.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information in our internal servers for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide ongoing access to purchased courses and certificates, and to comply with tax, accounting, and other legal obligations. When information is no longer required for these purposes, or upon expiry of your usership and a valid deletion request, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise it, including from backup systems, save where retention is required by applicable law (for example, to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or meet statutory record-keeping requirements).

10. Accessing, Correcting, and Deleting Your Information

Registered users can view the categories of personal information we hold about them under the profile/account section of the Website; we may withhold certain information (such as your hashed account password) where the risk of disclosure is too great. You may update most of the information you submitted at registration directly from your profile at any time, with the exception of your registered email ID.

You may request correction of inaccurate information, or deletion of your personal information and profile, by using any self-service option available on the Website or by writing to us at trade@stockburner.in. We will action verified requests within a reasonable time, save that we may retain certain information as authorised under applicable law, for example, information necessary to provide our Services, protect our systems from fraud, comply with a lawful law-enforcement request, or meet legal or financial compliance obligations.

At every stage prior to, during, or after information collection, you have the right to access the personal information you have provided, request its correction, and object to its continued retention, use, or potential disclosure, subject to the limitations described above.

11. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • The right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • The right to request correction of any personal data that is inaccurate or out of date;
  • The right to withdraw your consent to processing at any time;
  • The right to object to the processing of your personal data;
  • The right to request deletion of your personal data, subject to Clause 10 above; and
  • The right to opt out of marketing communications.

12. Confidentiality

Your information is treated as confidential and will not be divulged to any third party except as described in this Policy or where legally required to do so by an appropriate authority. Any emails we send you will relate only to the Services you have opted for, and you may seek discontinuation of such communications at any time.

13. Control of Your Password

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activity conducted under your account. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party or use another user’s account. If you believe your password has been compromised for any reason, you should change it immediately and notify us at trade@stockburner.in if you suspect any continued unauthorised access to your account.

14. Other Information Collectors and External Service Providers

This Policy addresses only our own collection and use of your information. To the extent you disclose information to other parties, whether external service providers integrated with the Website, or third-party sites you reach through a link on the Website, the privacy practices of those parties govern such disclosure, and we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies, as we do not control them.

15. Third-Party Links

The Website may contain links to third-party websites, payment gateways, or resources that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such third parties, and accessing them is entirely at your own risk.

16. International Data Transfers

Our Services are primarily hosted and operated in India; however, certain service providers (such as cloud hosting, email delivery, or analytics vendors, including Google Analytics as described in Clause 6.1) may process data outside India. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it continues to receive a level of protection consistent with this Policy.

17. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years of age or who otherwise meet the age of majority in their jurisdiction, consistent with the eligibility criteria in our Terms & Conditions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a minor without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it promptly.

18. No Investment Advice

For clarity, Stock Burner is an educational platform only. Any information, examples, case studies, charts, or illustrations shared as part of our courses, webinars, or communications are provided solely for educational purposes and do not constitute investment, trading, tax, or legal advice, nor a recommendation to buy or sell any security. See our Terms & Conditions for further detail.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The updated version will show a revised “Effective Date” and will take effect as soon as it is posted on the Website. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically; your continued use of the Services after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
